Nearly 360 residents of six villages in Dagestan have been evacuated from flood zones.

358 residents have been evacuated from six settlements in the Derbent district, most of whom are staying with relatives. 150 children were also evacuated from the Solnechny Bereg camp in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," the most dangerous situation due to flooding, in addition to Makhachkala, is observed in Derbent and the Derbent district, near the Solnechny Bereg children's camp in the Karabudakhkent district, and in the Khasavyurt district, Dagestan's head Sergei Melikov stated on April 5.

On April 5, work was carried out in Khasavyurt to strengthen the bank of the Yaryk-Su River, the city administration reported on its website. "Specialized equipment is actively involved in the work to strengthen the bank of the Yaryk-Su River in the Balyurt microdistrict. Rescuers from the Department of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Fire Safety, as well as specialists from the Department of Public Utilities, are involved in the work," the publication stated.

Hot pilaf and drinks were delivered directly to the work site.

According to the mayor's office, volunteers also participated in the bank protection work. As a reminder, due to flooding that began in late March, a state of emergency is in effect in 12 municipalities in Dagestan. On April 5, rains triggered a new round of flooding. Specifically, in Makhachkala, sections of city streets and the area around the Primorskaya substation, which supplies electricity to residents of the Reduktorny settlement and the Palmira microdistrict, were flooded.

In Dagestan, flooding has damaged homes, appliances, furniture, and cars. Makhachkala residents have complained of problems with electricity and water supplies, transportation accessibility, and a lack of communication with emergency services.
