In Ingushetia, voter turnout was 92.3%

The voter turnout at presidential election in Ingushetia made 92.3%. This was reported by Mussa Evloev, head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Ingushetia, during a videoconference with the information centre of CEC of Russia "Election-2008".

"The election passed as a festivity, without any remarks," he said.

The Republic has already processed 100% of final protocols of local electoral commissions. According to preliminary data, 91.6% of the voters have voted for Dmitri Medvedev. Vladimir Zhirinovsky has won 6.7% of the votes, Gennady Zyuganov - 1.5% and Andrei Bogdanov - 0.1%, the ITAR-TASS reports.

The web portal "Ingushetia.Ru" reports that the monitoring group, which consisted of local residents, counted only 5,742 persons, or 3.5% of the total registered voters, who came to take part in the election process.

Besides, the editorial board of this edition received a letter from a teacher of one of the comprehensive schools of Nazran that tells about the artificial effect of mass voting created at polling stations:

"In all the schools, where polling stations were located, groups of school teachers and employees of local administrations were organized. From the morning, all the teachers were called to schools, even stewards and cleaners. Everyone was forced to stay in the rooms allocated for voting and to vote for 6-7 times. <...>

There were very few people coming. They said that there would be lots of people, but our polling station was visited by some 40-50 persons. It was the same all over the Republic. I telephoned to other schools, the situation was the same everywhere," the letter runs.
