37 Azerbaijani families returned to the village of Kengerli

Members of 37 Azerbaijani families who left during the Karabakh conflict returned to the village of Kengerli today.

As "Kavkazsky Uzel" reported, by May 27, 694 people from 157 families had moved to the village of Kengerli in the Aghdam region.

Today, another group of people left for the village of Kengerli from "Gobupark-3", built in Baku for internally displaced persons. Previously, they were placed in different regions of Azerbaijan, mainly in hostels, sanatoriums and administrative buildings, APA reports.

Members of 37 families - 153 people - are returning to the village, Trend reports today.

Recall that on November 10, 2023, the Azerbaijani authorities announced that they plan to resettle 140 thousand people to the territories of Karabakh that have come under the control of Baku by 2026.

Azerbaijani displaced persons complained about the difficulties of returning to Karabakh. In particular, they noted that there are not enough jobs in Fizuli. People are looking for opportunities to return to their native places, but in the territories that came under the control of Azerbaijan, property issues have not yet been resolved, the displaced persons noted.

Azerbaijani analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" pointed out that simply providing housing to the forced migrants who have returned to their cities is not enough. The authorities must create jobs and build infrastructure, they emphasized.
