Activist detained for picketing in support of Zarema Musaeva

In Moscow, law enforcers have detained Anna Saifutdinova, who went out to a picket demanding the release of Zarema Musaeva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 2, the court extended Musaeva's arrest until February 12, 2023. On January 26, the court granted Musaeva's request for a new examination. Her advocates insisted that it should be conducted not in Chechnya, but the court decided conducting the new forensic examination in Chechnya.

On January 20, 2022, Zarema Musaeva was taken away from Nizhny Novgorod to Grozny, where she was arrested on charges of assaulting a law enforcer. Abubakar Yangulbaev, one of Musaeva's sons, who is a lawyer himself, has pointed out that his mother has diabetes with multiple complications, and jails cannot keep inmates with this disease.

In central Moscow, law enforcers have detained Anna Saifutdinova, who went out to a picket and unfolded a banner reading “Freedom to Zarema Musaeva!” Anna herself has explained.

Let us remind you that after Musaeva’s arrest, Ramzan Kadyrov accused the Yangulbaev family of organizing a terrorist network and said that they should be placed "in jail or underground."
