Number of protesters arrested in Armenia rises to nine

In Armenia, during the protests, five persons were detained and arrested; they are charged with hooliganism and an attack on a state official. The total number of criminal cases initiated against protesters has reached 12.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding protests demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. On May 7, protesters continued their actions; a women's march was held in Yerevan; they also demanded the resignation of the government.

Within the cases initiated against protesters five more people were arrested and two more detainees were released on bail, the Armenia's Investigating Committee (IC) has reported.
