On November 22-28, two persons fall victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of November 22-28, 2021, during the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, at least two people perished; no information about the wounded ones was reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

CTO in Karachay-Cherkessia

On November 26, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in a wooded mountainous area located 10 kilometres southeast of Karachaevsk, near the Kamennomost-Uchkulan highway in connection with a search for two alleged militants in the Karachaevsk District. Law enforcers killed two armed men who, according to the FSB, had planned a terror act. On the same day, the CTO regime was lifted; and weapons and an explosive device were found at the venue of the shootout, the local branch of the FSB reported.

Every month, quarter, and every year, the “Caucasian Knot” posts statistics with regard to victims of the armed conflict in the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) in Section “Northern Caucasus: Statistics of Victims”.

This CTO in Karachay-Cherkessia was the first in four years. In December 2017, five alleged militants were killed during a CTO conducted in the territory of a dacha village located in the southern outskirt of the village of Zelenchukskaya.
