CTO in KChR is the first in almost six years

The today's counterterrorist operation CTO) in the Karachay Distict, during which law enforcers have killed two alleged militants, is the second after the CTO conducted in several districts of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) back in December 2015.

Today, the CTO regime was introduced in the Karachay District of the KChR. Law enforcers have killed two armed militants who had planned a terror act, the regional branch of the FSB has informed.

Until today, law enforcers had not reported about any CTOs in the KChR since 2015. Then, in December 2015, three alleged militants were killed during a CTO conducted in an abandoned summer cottage settlement, while the exact location was not specified at that time. The CTO regime operated in the Adyge-Khabl and Prikubansky Districts and in the northern part of the city of Cherkessk.
