Activists and clergy question power of Ingush delegates at a forum in Chechnya

Ingush participants of a forum held in honour of the anniversary of the Akhmat Kadyrov’s jubilee, who introduced themselves as the leaders of the Muftiate, have nothing in common with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Ingushetia, Murad Daskiev, the chairman of the Council of Teips, and Imam Kharon Khamkhoev claim.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that a member of the Sultygov teip (family clan, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”) called on relatives to disavow Magomed-Bashir Sultygov, who participated in the forum in honour of Akhmat Kadyrov’s jubilee. The forum was attended by at least three residents of Ingushetia, and they introduced themselves as the mufti, the deputy mufti, and his assistant. Participation in official events in Chechnya is unacceptable for representatives of Ingushetia, Instagram users point out.

The Chechen-Ingush relations became complicated after in the autumn of 2018, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov concluded an agreement with Ramzan Kadyrov concerning the border between the republics.

The forum in honour of the 70th anniversary of the first president of Chechnya was attended by Akhmet Sagov, the head of the organization “Bart” (means “peace, harmony” as translated from the Ingush language, – note of the “Caucasian Knot”), Magomed-Bashir Sultygov, the imam of the mosque in the village of Ekazhevo, and Israpil Dudarov, a resident of the republic, reported Murad Daskiev, the chairman of the Ingush Council of Teips. He believes that the above mentioned people had no reason to introduce themselves as the leaders of the Muftiate.

Akhmed-Bashir Aushev, the elder of the Aushev teip, has expressed his indignation about the act of the heroes of the video, in which they call themselves the leaders of the republic’s Muftiate.

The mosque in Ekazhevo, which imam attended the forum in honour of the first president of Chechnya Akhmat Kadyrov’s jubilee, is associated with members of the Batal-Khadji community, who maintain relations with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, explains a former employee of the administration of the leader of Ingushetia.
