On May 10-16, 2021, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of May 10-16, 2021, no killed or wounded in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Arrests

On May 11, a court arrested for two months Dzaurov and Kartoev, two relatives of Magomed Kodzoev, a resident of the Kantyshevo village, who was killed in a shootout with law enforcers. Explosive devices and weapons were found at the house of one of the arrested men.

On May 16, Bagaudin Kuvanaev, a resident of the Stavropol Territory, was arrested in a case on the militant attack on Dagestan in 1999 led by Basaev and Khattab. According to the investigators’ version, Bagaudin Kuvanaev voluntarily joined the militant grouping. The man is suspected of participation in an armed riot and an attempt on the lives of law enforcers and a soldier.
