Assistant coordinator of Navalny's Makhachkala office released

Law enforcers would not allow Murad Manapov, the detained employee of the Navalny's office in Makhachkala, to contact his family and an advocate, and forced him, under pressure, to sign the protocol, the activist said after his release. Manapov intends to appeal against his detention and arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 12, associates of Eduard Ataev, the coordinator of Navalny's office in Makhachkala, reported that they could not contact him and his assistant Murad Manapov. On April 13, it became known that Eduard Ataev was serving 10 days of his administrative arrest in Khasavyurt; and his assistant Murad Manapov was arrested for three days and was kept at a special detention centre.

On April 14, after serving his administrative arrest, Murad Manapov was released.

On April 12, near No. 8 in Irchi Kazak Street, people who introduced themselves as policemen approached him and said that his car was listed in the orientation message; and, therefore, he should follow them, Manapov has explained.

After detention, he was taken to the police station, where they talked with him for several hours about the activities of the Navalny's office in Dagestan. Murad asked to contact an advocate and his family, but law enforcers refused.

"At the police station, they brought a protocol to me stating that I had violated the public order, and spoke obscenely in a public place. Policemen demanded from me to sign it. I refused, but under pressure they forced me to do it," Manapov said, adding that he would appeal against his detention and arrest.
