Residents of Chechnya report forcing their relatives returned from Moscow to community works

Residents of Chechnya, who were declared offenders and returned from Moscow, have been sent to public works, their relatives have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 3, the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company) informed that Chechen authorities had forced about a hundred natives of Chechnya to return from Moscow. The young people have publicly repented. Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor to the head of Chechnya, announced that all the returnees would be involved in public works.

"My brother was among those who were taken out of Moscow in early August for violations; earlier, he has left for there to work at a construction site. Here, as a punishment, he was engaged in cleaning the territory of the mosque, removing garbage and doing other work. The district policeman was supervising this ... Now, this duty has been removed from him, and he works with his friends at a private construction site," Magomed, a resident of Grozny, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Vakha, a resident of the Grozny District, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that his nephew and his friend were brought from Moscow a month ago together with a whole group of other guys. "As a punishment, they did various jobs for two weeks, cleaned up the territory of the police station and the administration – in general, they did everything they were told to," he has explained.
