First coronavirus patient dies in Armenia

An elderly patient infected with coronavirus, who also suffered from other diseases, has died, the Ministry of Public Health of Armenia has reported.

On March 26, the number of coronavirus cases in Armenia reached 290. Three servicemen of the Armenian Army are among them.

Alina Nikogosyan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Public Health of Armenia, reported on her Facebook that the deceased patient was 72 years old; he suffered from pneumonia, hypertension and arrhythmia. "Unfortunately, he couldn't be saved because of his concomitant diseases," she has added.

Since March 25, citizens' movement is restricted in Armenia. Exceptions are made only for those who want to go to a pharmacy or a store; but a citizen should fill out a protocol, in which he/she must indicate where he/she goes and for what purpose, and also when he/she plans to return home. Criminal liability is envisages for infecting others with coronavirus.
