Relative of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, killed in Berlin, put on international wanted list

A court in Moscow has arrested in absentia Muradi Kavtarashvili, accused of promoting terrorism; according to a source, he is a relative of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zelimkhan Khangoshvili was shot dead in Berlin on August 23, 2019. His relatives have suggested that Russian and Georgian special services were interested in eliminating him. Khangoshvili was one of the organizers of explosions in Moscow metro, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, has stated.

According to a TASS source, Muradi Kavtarashvili lived in Germany under the name of Tornike Kavtarashvili.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, said that many people involved in "killings during the bloody events in the Caucasus" are hiding in Europe.

Earlier, Steffen Seibert, the spokesman of the German government, failed to confirm Mr Putin's words about earlier Russia's requests to extradite Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, the "Deutsche Welle" reports.

Let us remind you that according to the investigation conducted by The Insider, Bellingcat and Der Spiegel, the real name of the suspected Khangoshvili's killer is Vadim Krasikov. The authors of the investigation believe that in 2013, in Moscow, Krasikov executed Albert Nazarov, an entrepreneur from Kabardino-Balkaria. Both murders were committed in a common style – the killer drove up to the crime venue on a bicycle.
