Two children of Chechen natives brought from Iraq to Moscow

Two out of 32 children taken out of a Baghdad prison will be handed over to their relatives in Chechnya, the Chechen Ministry for National Policy reports today. Among the children brought to Russia there are also children of natives of Dagestan and Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September, three children whose mother had left Chechnya to join militants in the Middle East were reunited with their relatives in the Grozny District.

In the evening on November 18, 32 children of Russian citizens were brought to Moscow from Baghdad. Of them, two will be handed over to their relatives in Grozny in the coming days, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by an official from the Chechen Ministry for National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information. "They are children under the age of seven. At present, along with the others, they are being examined at the National Medical Research Centre for Children's Health in Moscow," the official from the Chechen Ministry for National Policy noted.

Other children brought from Iraq will travel to 11 regions of the country, including to Ingushetia and Dagestan, the official has added. She has not specified how many children will be reunited with their relatives in those regions of Northern Caucasus. "In total, 18 boys and 14 girls were returned," the official reported.

According to the report posted on the official website of the Russian Ministry for Public Health on November 18, 32 children brought to Moscow are from one to three years old, and in Baghdad, they were kept in a prison.
