Hundreds besiege McGregor's hotel after his words about Dagestanis

A Moscow hotel was taken under guard after several hundred people, outraged by the words of the Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor about Dagestanis, tried to reach him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 24, an Irish MMA (mixed martial art) fighter Conor McGregor gave a press conference in Moscow, saying that his revenge versus Khabib Nurmagomedov was inevitable. He convicted the Dagestan fighter of non-patriotism, stating that the latter had failed to go to the fight with the Russian flag. Besides, McGregor gave an unflattering assessment of Khabib's fellow countrymen.

On October 7, 2018, at the UFC-229 tournament in Las Vegas, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated the Irishman Conor McGregor and retained the lightweight champion's belt.

From the evening on October 24, natives from the Caucasus, offended by McGregor's words pronounced at the press conference, began gathering at the hotel in the hope to reach the Irish athlete.

On Friday morning, "about 250 people came to the hotel in Tverskaya Street, where Conor McGregor stayed," and "about 25 OMON (riot police) fighters were attracted to ensure law and order," RIA "Novosti Sport" has reported on its Twitter.

The people, who gathered at the hotel, expressed their intention to beat McGregor up. "People were not embarrassed by their intent to beat Conor in a crowd:" Conor offended the whole Dagestani people. Is beating in a crowd unfair? For his words – not!" the Instagram-public winnie_the_vine describes the situation at the hotel.

McGregor didn't come out to the crowd, but one of the natives of Dagestan managed to get to the athlete's open training session on Friday afternoon, where there were a large number of journalists. The young man threw a bottle at McGregor, but the latter dodged.
