McGregor blames Khabib for non-patriotism

The Dagestani MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov doesn't fight for Russia, because he goes out without the Russian flag, said his rival Conor McGregor. According to Conor, his revenge fight with Khabib is inevitable.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 7, 2018, at the UFC-229 tournament in Las Vegas, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated the Irishman Conor McGregor and retained the lightweight champion's belt.

On October 24, 2019, the Irish MMA fighter, Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion in two weight categories, gave a press conference in Moscow. According to his version, Khabib is "afraid to take risks" and “fights only with those whom he can defeat."

The Irishman, who had not performed for a full year after losing to Khabib, has announced his return into the octagon. He intends to achieve a revenge match with Nurmagomedov and wants to hold it in Moscow.

"I told him (Nurmagomedov, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"): 'Run, but you still won't run away from the revenge' [...] I don't think that Nurmagomedov represents Russia; where's his flag? I represent Ireland and always come out with the Irish flag. Nurmagomedov doesn't fight for Russia," the "Championship.com" quotes McGregor as saying.

At the same press conference, McGregor said that he wouldn't like visiting Dagestan, the homeland of his rival, and gave an unflattering opinion about Khabib's compatriots.
