YouTube users ridicule Kadyrov's adviser

Adam Shakhidov, a Chechen theologian, has equated the motto of Kadyrov's retinue, "Akhmat is power!", to the foundations of the Koran and the Sunnah, treating the chanting of this slogan as a duty of the residents of Chechnya. Social network users and local residents have criticized Shakhidov's statement. References to religion are often used as tools of political propaganda, and interpretations of sacral texts are adapted to the conjuncture, Islamic scholars have pointed out.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 13, 2019, the blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, posted a video on the YouTube, in which Ramzan Kadyrov's father called Christians and non-believers "dogs of Allah."

The Chechen theologian and an advisor to the head of Chechnya, Adam Shakhidov, told the residents of Chechnya that they were obliged to chant "Akhmat is power!" This slogan is used by Ramzan Kadyrov's confidants at all public events.

YouTube users have indicated that the theologian's interpretation is contrary to Islam.

"Nobody has power and strength except Allah," said a user of the "Channel of Truth".

According to residents of Chechnya, Shakhidov's statement and the book he published about Akhmat Kadyrov is another Chechen authorities' response to criticism from Tumso Abdurakhmanov.

"Tumso has essentially spoiled Akhmat Kadyrov's image by posting old videos with Akhmat's radical statements from the time of the first Chechen military campaign. The authorities are trying to minimize this damage and make absurd steps," said Fatima, an activist.

Adam Shakhidov's statement has nothing to do with the teachings of Islam; there is only gross flattery in it, Vladimir Bobrovnikov, the head of the Caucasus sector at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is sure. He has treated the comparison of Akhmat Kadyrov with the Prophet, made earlier by Ramzan Kadyrov, as blasphemous.
