NKR fixes aggravation of situation in conflict zone

On May 2-3, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made 330 shots at the positions of the Karabakh Defence Army in the vicinity of the village of Madagiz, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 21-27, the NKR recorded 300 shelling attacks in the conflict zone and called for an end to the "artificial aggravation" of the situation.

On May 2-3 only, the Azerbaijani militaries fired about 330 shots from sniper rifles, machine and submachine guns in the north-eastern section of the NKR's border, in the area of Madagiz village, says the website of the MoD of the NKR, adding that the armistice regime was also violated in the area of Akna (Agdam), where "a grain-carrier was recently fired from a rifle."

"In recent days, a conflict escalation is observed on the Azerbaijani-Karabakh border: not only violations of the ceasefire regime, but also large-scale construction works. The MoD of the NKR ... calls on Azerbaijan to refrain from the tactics that artificially aggravates the situation," the statement says.

In its turn, Azerbaijan also regularly reports about ceasefire violations. Thus, today, according to the Azerbaijan MoD, 21 machine-gun shelling attacks were recorded in the pre-border territories.
