Wounded supporter of Grigol Vashadze transferred to a Tbilisi clinic

Nodar Burdiladze, the head for the election office of Grigol Vashadze in the Oni Region in the north-west of Georgia, underwent a serious surgery and was taken to a Tbilisi clinic for further medical treatment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nodar Burdiladze was stabbed in his house in the city of Oni after a quarrel with activists of the ruling party, reported a member of the "United National Movement" (UNM).

The decision to transfer Nodar Burdiladze to a Tbilisi clinic was made in the evening on November 22. The activist, who got two knife wounds to his abdomen and one to his back, underwent a surgery and was sent to Tbilisi in a reanimobile, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported with reference to the live broadcast of the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel.

The surgery, which was carried out by three medical teams, lasted seven hours, but, according to medical officers, the condition of Nodar Burdiladze remains severe.

Mamuka Mdinaradze, a member of the parliamentary majority, has commented on the attack on the opposition leader in the city of Oni. According to the politician, a man detained after the attack on Nodar Burdiladze and his suspected accomplice are not members of the "Georgian Dream" Party. In that regard, Mamuka Mdinaradze has accused the opposition of lying.
