Two "Sasna Tsrer" members released from custody

Today, the defence of Tatul Tamrazyan and Gevorg Iritsyan, members of the unit "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), has convinced the court to release them under recognizance not to leave.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the change of power in Armenia, 20 out of 32 defendants in the "Sasna Tsrer" case were released. However, some motions for changing the pre-trial restriction measure were dismissed by the court. On June 22, in Yerevan, the court left Tatul Tamrazyan and Gevorg Iritsyan in custody.

On July 17-31, 2016, the armed unit "Sasna Tsrer", consisting of supporters of the opposition "Constituent Parliament", was keeping the building of the patrol-and-post service in the Armenian capital. The rebels also seized hostages and released them on the day before surrendering.

Today, the Yerevan court has granted the motions to release Tatul Tamrazyan and Gevorg Iritsyan under recognizance not to leave, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by advocate Araik Papikyan.

At present, in total, 22 out of 32 defendants, accused of capturing a police regiment building in July 2016, enjoyed a change in the pre-trial restriction measures.
