Georgia's President offers Ivanishvili to become Premier

Bidzina Ivanishvili, as the leader of the ruling party, should become Prime Minister, Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia, has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 13, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the former Prime Minister, resigned, explaining his decision by disagreements with the leader of the "Georgian Dream" Party and referring to the situation in the country.

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the chairman and leader of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, should become the head of the government (Prime Minister), Mr Margvelashvili believes.

"In Europe, leaders of ruling parties are Prime Ministers; therefore, Ivanishvili should become the head of our Cabinet," Margvelashvili said.

By his estimation, once Ivanishvili was a good Prime Minister, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reports.

The Georgian President also called on the country's political forces to nominate Bidzina Ivanishvili for the Prime Minister.
