Grozny enhances security measures prior to arrival of Egyptian national football team

Residents of the Chechen capital noted the enhancement of security measures in the area of "The Local" Hotel and the "Akhmat Arena" Stadium, where athletes from the Egypt national football team will be accommodated and trained for the period of the FIFA World Cup.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the period from June 14 to July 15, Russia will host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Athletes from the Egypt national football will train for the FIFA World Cup in Grozny.

Grozny enhances security measures on the eve of the arrival of the Egyptian national football team, residents of the Chechen capital report.

"I was driving by the 'Akhmat' Stadium. Usually, there were two or three policemen on duty at the entrance. But now there are much more guards and military vehicles there," local resident Dokka told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on June 8.

According to the man, law enforcers stopped his car and allowed him drive by only after check of his documents and inspection of his car luggage boot.

Local residents report that in Grozny, security measures are "systematically" enhanced during the arrivals in the region of large delegations or officials from Moscow, as well as before major events.
