Chechnya resident asks rights defenders to help him meet Russia's Ombudsperson

In his video appeal to participants of the Congress of Human Rights Defenders, Ramazan Djalaldinov, a resident of the Chechen village of Kenkhi, has complained of his unsuccessful attempts to meet Russia's Ombudsperson Tatiana Moskalkova and report to her about violations of his fellow villagers' rights.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 14, 2016, in his video appeal to President Vladimir Putin, Ramazan Djalaldinov reported that officials seized from residents of the Kenkhi village their compensation for destroyed houses. On May 12, the house of Ramazan Djalaldinov was burnt down, and his wife and children left for Dagestan, where he himself was also hiding later.

According to Ramazan Djalaldinov, residents of the Kenkhi village still cannot get their compensation. He has requested the rights defenders to help him meet Tatiana Moskalkova. Ramazan Djalaldinov has noted he stays in Moscow.

"I believe I will prove the facts of arbitrariness in Chechnya," stated Ramazan Djalaldinov.

On November 26-27, the All-Russian Congress for Human Rights Defenders is being held in Moscow under the decision of the Human Rights Council of Russia.
