Money being raised for a movie about Dagestani policeman Nurbagandov

A feature movie "Keep working, Brothers!" about the life of Magomed Nurbagandov, a policeman, killed by militants, will be filmed in Dagestan for people's money, Pyotr Alyoshkin, the project initiator and the Producer General of the "Our Youth" Film Studio, has announced today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 10, two young men were shelled and killed in a forest near the village of Sergokala. One of the killed men was the above policeman Magomed Nurbagandov. On September 7, during a special operation carried out in the town of Izberbash, three suspected militants were killed. In the mobile phone of one of the killed suspects, law enforcers discovered a video record showing how an armed man tried to force the policeman to urge his friends and acquaintances to leave their service at the law enforcement bodies. In response, the policeman addressed his friends and said: "Keep working, brothers!" After this phrase, he was shot dead.

On September 21, Vladimir Putin signed a decree to award the Dagestani policemen the title of Hero of Russia. In Grozny, a street was named after Magomed Nurbagandov.

A search for actors for the main roles in the feature film about the life of Magomed Nurbagandov is on in Dagestan and Grozny. According to Pyotr Alyoshkin, the mass scenes of the movie will be performed by actors from Dagestani theatres.

"This is a real people's movie about the life of the Dagestani policeman Magomed Nurbagandov and the 300th anniversary of the Russian police. The feat of the Dagestani policeman became known throughout Russia and raised the prestige and authority of the Russian police; we must be proud and remember his feat," the TASS quotes Mr Alyoshkin as saying.

The movie will be directed by Magomed Suleimanov, the Chairman of the Dagestani Branch of the Russian Union of Cinematographers, while they hope to raise the necessary funds by means of the crowd-funding platform on the Internet.

The total budget of the film is estimated at 60 million roubles.
