Relatives of pilot who disappeared in Congo hold a rally in Tbilisi

Participants in a protest action in Tbilisi have demanded from the Georgian authorities to provide the information about the fate of Joseph Osiurauli, a Georgian military pilot, who was captured in the Republic of the Congo.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January, Joseph Osiurauli, the retired Colonel of the Georgian armed forces, was captured in the Republic of the Congo. According to his relatives, a million US dollars was required for his release. The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported on its possible death.

The conflict between the Congolese government army and the armed groupings of Tutsi ethnic minority supporters continues since 2004.

"The MFA reports Joseph Osiurauli has died. However, Georgians living in the Congo say that he is alive. The situation has not been changed for almost a year," claimed participants of the action as quoted by the "Georgia Online".
