In Grozny, buses removed from route to bring public employees to rally

The authorities of the Chechen capital have arranged transportation of students and public employees to a rally to honour the Day of the Chechen Republic. This was reported by residents of Grozny.

According to the Mayor's Office, the festive rally in front of the mosque "Heart of Chechnya" was attended by about 30,000 people.

Some public employees reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about being obliged to take part in the action.

"In the morning, we were instructed to send students to the rally. For that purpose, the city administration took several buses off the route and sent them to us," said a teacher from the Grozny University.

"This is the second rally for the week, in which we take part ... We hope that at least we will not have to spend half a day in the sun like previous time," said Larisa, an employee of a Chechen public institution.

On September 4, a rally in support of Muslims in Myanmar was held in Grozny. According to the calculations made by the City Mayor's Office, at least one million people took part in the action. Eyewitnesses reported that law enforcers did not allow people to leave the action.

Besides, today, since the morning, the police blocked the central streets of Grozny for passage of vehicles.

"I hope that at least this time the police will not forbid people to leave the action, and the city authorities will think about that people should at least drink water without problems," said Timur, an employee of one of the Chechen ministries.
