Journalists reproach Abdulatipov for his belated reaction to Leninaul conflict

The intervention of Chechen authorities into conflict in Leninaul undermines the authority of Ramazan Abdulatipov. The head of Dagestan had to come there as the head of delegation on the day of the conflict, journalists Magomed Magomedov and Milrad Fatullaev have stated. On July 11, the situation in the village was stable, locals report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7, law enforcers restricted entry to the village of Leninaul, Kazbek District of Dagestan, in connection with the intended rally of the Chechen community. Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, arrived at the border.

Against the conflict in Leninaul, Avar youth were called "not to participate in any rallies and behave as correctly as possible," said a deputy of the local rural assembly.

According to Magomed Magomedov, a political observer of the "Chernovik" weekly, the authorities of Chechnya "showed Chechens-Akkies that in their interests they are ready to send high-ranking officials the conflict area."

"This shows that Chechen authorities are more dynamic on this issue than Dagestani ones," he said.

"On the Chechen party there was Magomed Daudov, the second official of Chechnya; while on the Dagestani one, there were respected people, but not the first persons," Mr Magomedov has also noted.

The Chechen party is trying to "attract attention to the conflict and speed up the restoration of the Aukh District," Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the RIA "Derbent", believes.

"The head of Dagestan is less and less trusted in the republic," he has added.
