SC of Dagestan obliges investigators to check statement of Gasanguseinovs' father

Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan has refused to treat investigators' actions in the case of Gasanguseinov brothers as lawful, and has obliged them to check the statement of Murtazali Gasanguseinov about the murder of his sons-shepherds.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala satisfied the Murtazali Gasanguseinov's complaint and ruled to treat the inaction of the head of the Investigating Department (ID) for Dagestan of Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) as illegal. The father's advocates managed to convince the court that investigators had been obliged to open a criminal case on the brothers' murder.

Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov, residents of the village of Goor-Khindakh, were killed on August 23, 2016. Power agents then said that the brothers were militants and opened fire on them. However, relatives and fellow-villagers of the brothers insist that they were shepherds are had no ties with the armed underground.

Earlier, advocates of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" stated that investigators did not allow Murtazali Gasanguseinov's advocates to enter the case and concluded that they tried to deprive the parents of the right to have their sons rehabilitated.
