Volgograd experts state inadmissibility of changing borders of "Bald Mount"
The construction of the road in the territory of the cultural heritage sire named "Bald Mount" is unacceptable, said in the Volgograd Regional Organization (VRO) "All-Russian Society for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments".
A section of the Volgograd Third Longitudinal Mainline has to cross the "Bald Mount". At the Committee on Culture, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told that the decision to change the boundaries of the above site can only be made with account of the opinion of the public and the legislation.
Today in Volgograd, public activists demonstrated at a press conference how the territory of the site will look like after the road construction.
According to Valery Kotelnikov, the Chairman of the Board of the VRO, it is planned to build the mainline section within the development of the city, but it but it should be moved a little way.
Galina Shipilova, a state expert for carrying out a historical-cultural examination and a member of the Board of the VRO "All-Russian Society for Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments", said that the order about new boundaries of the historical site violates the legislation of the Russian in the field of conservation of cultural heritage.
The Regionally Culture Committee notes that the project of correction of the boundaries of the site is posted on the Internet. According to Elena Onischenko, a senior consultant of the Division of State Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Culture Committee of the Volgograd Region, everyone is welcomed to vote.
