Staff member of Grozny City Library reports on dismissal of their director

According to a staff members of the Central Library in Grozny, four other staff members of the Central Library, including the director, could be dismissed because of the dissemination of the information about the closure of the institution. The Central Library will not be closed, and it is just moved to another place, the authorities report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, staff members of the Grozny Central Library claimed being forced to leave the building. They have published in social networks the appeal to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and called him on to prevent the closure of the Grozny Central Library.

At present, according to one of the staff members of the Grozny Central Library, the institution has more than five million readers.

The Grozny Central Library was located in a convenient place, and it often held meetings with writers, artists, actors, scientists, and photo exhibitions, says Gelani Osmaev, a resident of the Nadterechny District of Chechnya.

Meanwhile, Muslim Khuchiev, Mayor of Grozny, reports that the Central City Library, located on the first floor of an apartment building, will not be closed, but will only be transferred to the building of the National Library of the Chechen Republic, which is more suitable for the storage of the books.
