Concerts of Georgian dancers in Vladikavkaz give rise to disputes among residents of South and North Ossetia

In South Ossetia, public activists expressed their dissatisfaction about the upcoming concerts of Georgian ensembles in Vladikavkaz. In North Ossetia, a number of organizations called on the authorities of the republic to take measures to cancel those performances. Stanislav Kesaev, Vice-Speaker of the North Ossetian Parliament, has called on not to politicize the event.

The performance of Georgian ensembles "Rustavi" and "Bani" is of commercial nature. This is reported by officials from the concert hall of the North Ossetian State University, where the performances will take place.

Organizers of the "Rustavi" performance are located in Stavropol, and ensemble "Bani" was invited to Vladikavkaz by the local Georgian cultural association, the web portal "Abon" reports with reference to Eduard Galazov, Dean of the Faculty of Arts of the North Ossetian State University.

In South Ossetia, members of the public ensemble "Simd" have stressed their negative attitude to the concerts of Georgian ensembles in North Ossetia. They have noted that residents of the republic should demonstrate their solidarity with residents of South Ossetian on the fact of the Georgian-Ossetian war events.

Leonid Tibilov, President of South Ossetia, has explained that people perceive painfully the topic of performance of Georgian ensembles in North Ossetia, since Georgia has failed to offer apologies for hostilities and does not sign a document on non-use of force.
