In Cherkessk hospital, advocate Merzakulov jumps out of window; physicians report on his suicide attempt

The condition of advocate Vyacheslav Merzakulov, who jumped out of a window of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republican Hospital, remains severe but stable. Physicians report on his suicide attempt. Relatives of the advocate deny the allegation and plan to file a complaint about the negligence of physicians.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of December 19, 2015, advocate Vyacheslav Merzakulov was hospitalized. Later, he underwent surgery and was placed to resuscitation ward. On January 1, he jumped out of the window of his ward. As a result of his fall, the advocate broke his arm, his relatives report with reference to the physicians.

"Today, we have found out that apart from his broken arm, he also got other injuries hidden from us by physicians," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Ruslan Merzakulov, the father of the advocate.

Physicians from the resuscitation ward of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republican Hospital have reported that Vyacheslav Merzakulov attempted to commit suicide.

The advocate's relatives have announced their intention to appeal to the Ministry of Health, as well as to the investigating and supervisory authorities.

"We will appeal to all authorities. Now, we have a weekend, and this makes it difficult to act. We will investigate how a perfectly healthy man suddenly wanted to jump out of a hospital window and why that happened," said the father of Vyacheslav Merzakulov.

According to him, the relatives "still have not been informed about the names of the medicines used for anaesthesia, and the fact of the physicians' negligence is obvious."
