Consideration of motion for Evgeny Vitishko's CER postponed for three weeks
Representatives of the victim party construction company from the Krasnodar Territory have failed to attend the court session to consider the issue on conditional early relief (CER) for Krasnodar ecologist Evgeny Vitishko. Thereby, the judge has postponed the consideration of the motion till December 25.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 10, the Kirsanov District Court of the Tambov Region pronounced the decision to replace the unserved part of sentence with restriction of liberty. However, the Prosecutor's Office has appealed against the Court's decision. On November 24, Evgeny Vitishko declared the second hunger strike in protest against the obstruction to his conditional early relief.
The defence hopes that the Tambov Regional Court will soon consider the appeal of the Prosecutor's Office, which challenged the commutation of sentence for Evgeny Vitishko and demanded to specify in the Court's decision the exact place where the ecologist would serve the remaining term of his sentence.
According to advocate Sergey Loktev, Evgeny Vitishko "is in a very depressed state" and he plans to continue his hunger strike until the progress on the issue of his release.
Evgeny Vitishko is still deprived of any medical treatment in the penal colony. This was stated by Anna Mikhailova, a member of "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch).
