"Kommersant": ICRF stops prosecuting employees of Domodedovo Airport in case of terror act

Investigators have found no components of crime in the actions of staff members of the transport police and employees of the Domodedovo Airport in connection with a terror act at the Domodedovo Airport.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 24, 2011, a terror act was committed at the Domodedovo Airport of Moscow. The explosion killed 37 people, and other 172 were injured. Andrei Alexeyev, the former chief of the Transport Department for the Central Federal District of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Alexander Trushanin, the former chief of the "Domodedovo" LOVD (Linear Interior Division), as well as his deputies Alexander Budtsov and Alexander Degtyarev became the suspects in the case of failure to comply with safety requirements in connection with the terror act. The same charges were filed against Igor Borisov, Director of the Russian representative office of the offshore company "Airport Management Company Limited" registered in the Isle of Man and operating the Domodedovo Airport, his deputy Vyacheslav Nekrasov, Andrei Danilov, Managing Director of Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Airport Aviation Security Domodedovo" in charge of airport security, and Anatoly Moiseyev, the chief of the aviation security service of the JSC "Airport Aviation Security Domodedovo".

On August 24, investigator from the ICRF made a decision to close the case, the "Kommersant" reports.

According to investigators, the actions of Andrei Alexeyev, Alexander Trushanin, Alexander Budtsov, Alexander Degtyarev, Igor Borisov, Vyacheslav Nekrasov, Andrei Danilov, and Anatoly Moiseyev contained no components of crime stipulated under Part 3 of Article 263-1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to comply with the requirements of transport safety).
