Darya Polyudova arrested for 15 days
A court in the Krasnodar Territory has ruled to arrest the activist Darya Polyudova for 15 days for propaganda of Nazi symbols. Polyudova is sure that the ruling was made in connection with her support of another activist, Yulia Usach.
On September 22, the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnodar fined Yulia Usach by 1500 roubles for the caricatures posted by her in social network and containing Nazi swastikas. On October 22, the decision of the first-instance court was upheld by the Krasnodar Territorial Court. Ms Usach denies her guilt. According to her advocate Alexander Popkov, "no examination of the images posted on Usach's was made."
The ruling to arrest Polyudova was made today by the Krasnoarmeiskiy District Court.
"I placed a post on my page in social network in support of the anti-fascist Yulia Usach, who was convicted for Nazi propaganda, and two other posts, which criticize Putin's policy," said Darya Polyudova.
She noted that "she doesn't remember the exact content of the reposts, since she posted them a few months ago."
"I am not the author of these posts – I just placed them in my own page. Since Usach was fined for Nazi propaganda, by supporting her I was automatically advocating fascism. But this is an absurdity," she said.
