Turkish police release Dagestani woman detained during raid

A female native of Dagestan has been released after being detained in Turkey during a police raid against suspected members of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS). This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a member of a Turkish human rights organization.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 22, the newspaper "Hurriyet" reported about the detention of 12 natives of Northern Caucasus on suspicion of involvement in the "Islamic State" ( IS has been recognized as terrorist organization in Russia, USA, Turkey and a number of other countries – note of the "Caucasian Knot").

"The young woman was detained, since her husband had been kept for several months in custody on suspicion of aiding and abetting in terrorist activities," said the member of a Turkish NGO.

"On October 22, the court hearing was held, during which the involvement of the young man in the incriminated actions was not proved. He was released, and then his wife was also released," the human rights defender has reported.

Meanwhile, he refused to mention the names of the spouses. "Despite the fact that the charge has not been confirmed, the Russian law enforcement agencies may initiate criminal proceedings against the spouses," the NGO member has noted.
