Russia requests from Turkey data on detention of natives of Northern Caucasus

The Russian Embassy has requested from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) the data about detention of 12 natives of Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the detention of 12 natives of Northern Caucasus on suspicion of involvement in the IS was announced by the newspaper Hurriyet. According to a source of the paper, all of them were detained during the counterterrorist operation within the inquiry into the terror act committed in Ankara on October 10.

Among the North-Caucasian there is at least one resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, said a representative of one of the Turkish human rights organizations.

According to his story, two days earlier in Istanbul, the police also made detentions in the educational centre, where children from families of members or supporters of the IS studied, "mainly Uzbek and Tajik children" (the IS has been recognized as terrorist organization in Russia, USA, Turkey and a number of other countries – note of the "Caucasian Knot").

As reported by the DNA (Dogan News Agency), nine natives of Dagestan detained on suspicion of involvement in the IS will be deported from Turkey.

The nine Dagestani detainees are awaiting deportation. Another detainee, a native of Chechnya Mokhammed Ali-Hadji S., was arrested after giving a confession. He was trained in Syria and "was a Chechen representative of the IS."

According to the newspaper, in relation of two other detainees, presumably natives of Dagestan Aslan T. and Makhmud Sh., "a check is underway with regard to their involvement in the activities of the IS."
