In Akhtubinsk, hunger-strikers suspend their protest action
Employees of the "Akhtuba ATP" (auto transport company) have stopped their hunger strike after the citywide rally and meeting. The participants of the action have put forward the demands to prevent the bankruptcy of the enterprise and create the conditions for its active operation.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 19, seven employees of the "Akhtuba ATP" declared a hunger strike demanding to repay the debts on wages and other benefits. On October 3, Akhtubinsk held a rally demanding to maintain the municipal enterprise "Akhtuba ATP".
The participants of the action have demanded from the authorities "within the period until January 1, 2016, to take all measures for economic recovery of the municipal enterprise 'Akhtuba ATP', to prevent its bankruptcy, to retain its status of a municipal enterprise, and to create conditions for full and socially important operation of the enterprise."
Besides, the participants of the action have also demanded "within October 2015, to make all payments owed to the employees of the enterprise." The workers have stated that in case if their demands are not met, they will resume their hunger strike.
