Prosecutor's Office succeeds in returning Vladimir Bessonov's case to District Court of Rostov-on-Don

The Rostov Regional Court has pronounced the decision to return the criminal case against Vladimir Bessonov, a deputy of the State Duma, to the Kirov District Court of Rostov-on-Don.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 23, the Kirov District Court of Rostov-on-Don returned the case against Vladimir Bessonov, a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), accused of the use of violence against policemen, to the prosecutor. According to the Court, the Communist has not examined the case materials, and he has not received a copy of the indictment. The Prosecutor's Office has challenged the Court's decision.

According to investigators, on December 2, 2011, during an unsanctioned rally in Rostov-on-Don, Vladimir Bessonov together with other participants of the rally beat policemen and damaged their uniforms. The preliminary court hearing in the Vladimir Bessonov's case was scheduled for March 10, 2015; however, it was repeatedly postponed.

Today, Vladimir Bessonov has failed to appear in court, the "Interfax" reports. The judge has decided to continue the court hearing without the defendant and noted that Vladimir Bessonov had been duly informed about the place, date, and time of the court hearing, the "Don24" reports.
