Employees of "Akhtuba ATP" expect resumption of enterprise's operation

In Akhtubinsk, apart from the demand of full payment of wage arrears by the municipal enterprise (MP) "Akhtuba ATP" (auto transport company), participants of the hunger strike insist on the resumption of the enterprise's operation. They welcomed the information about the possible dismissal of the ATP director. Meanwhile, under the current director, the bankruptcy proceedings were started with regard to the enterprise.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 19, five employees of the "Akhtuba ATP", who did not receive their wages for more than a year, started a hunger strike, and on the same day, the number of hunger-strikers grew up to seven persons. According to them, the wage arrears of the enterprise exceed the amount of 5 million roubles. On September 21, the authorities promised to make a decision on allocation of 5.5 million roubles to pay off the wage arrears and to start payments on September 28.

On September 21, the ATP workers were met by the leaders of the region, the district, and the city. Following the meeting outcome, a protocol was signed. The head of the Akhtubinsk administration is recommended within the term of up to 12:00 a.m. of September 22 to send to city deputies a draft decision on amendments to the city budget for 2015 concerning budgetary allocation in the amount of 5.5 million roubles to pay off wage arrears of the MP "Akhtuba ATP".

Akhtubinsk Mayor Amanga Naruzbaev has apologized to the ATP employees. He has recognized his fault as a mayor and as a founder of the enterprise in the situation encountered by the ATP workers. However, the hunger-strikers refused to suspend their protest action.
