In Volgograd, Communists holds picket demanding to recount votes

Today, members of the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) have held a picket In Lenin Square in Volgograd to protest against the results of September 13 elections. They claimed that violations were committed during the election campaign and demanded to recount votes.

On September 13, a number of regions of Southern Russia and Northern Caucasus held voting at the elections of various levels.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Ekaterina Pechonova, the spokesperson of the Stalingrad Regional Committee of the CPRF, that the picket in Volgograd was attended by about 30 people.

"The picket was attended by the Communists, and Sergey Abramenko, a CPRF candidate to the City Duma, also came to the picket. He talked about the violations he encountered during the election campaign. According to him, the elections involved administrative resources, and posters with his photos were removed from the walls. Sergey Abramenko has also claimed violations committed on the day of the counting of votes in a number of electoral precincts. One of the observers of the elections complained that it was impossible to monitor the vote counting, since observers' places were arranged in a distance," Ekaterina Pechonova has said.

Let us remind you that yesterday, on September 14, the Communists also held a picket in front of the Regional Election Commission to protest against the election results. The Regional Election Commission itself reported on 14 complaints received on the election day.
