Volgograd activists come out to actions against liquidation of sanctioned foodstuffs

Three solo pickets in defence of Article 31 of the Constitution and against liquidation of sanctioned foodstuffs were held today by three residents of Volgograd.

The Decree of President Vladimir Putin's "On Certain Special Economic Measures to Ensure Security of the Russian Federation" of August 6, 2014, prescribes "Rosselkhoz" (Russian Federal Ministry of Agriculture) to liquidate the food products imported into Russia, bypassing the embargo.

The solo pickets were held by pensioner Galina Tikhenko, Anatoly Eldyrkin, the secretary of the Volgograd branch of the "RPR-Parnas" Party, and Vladimir Vasilchenko, the chairman of the Society "Defence of Depositors of Savings Bank of the USSR".

Activists held posters "We have Putin – no need of food", "Putin has signed a decree on liquidation of sanctioned foodstuffs" and "In Volgograd, needy people get social benefit of 3.09 roubles per day on food", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"Liquidation of foodstuffs is a disgrace beyond reasonable. The problem could have been solved in a different way. And it is all this against the background of impoverishment of the Russian population, and residents of Volgograd," an activist Nina Vitalyevna, who came to support the picketers, said in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot".
