CTO regime lifted in Makhachkala

The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, which was introduced in the Leninsky District of Makhachkala after the attack on policemen in Novy Khushet, has been cancelled.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime was introduced in the Leninsky District on August 23; and the main special actions were conducted in the settlement of Novy Khushet. In the course of them, three persons were killed; and one OMON (riot police) fighter was wounded. The casualties were pre-identified as Abdul Kurbanov, the leader of local militants, and his subordinates Magomed Ibragimov and Magomed Abdulkhaliev.

Today at 10 in the morning the CTO regime in the Leninsky District was officially lifted, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to the source from the operative headquarters of Dagestan.

Let us remind you that the CTO was launched after the August 21 attack on an OMON employee in Novy Khushet, when the employee was wounded and his relative, who also worked in the police, and his 15-year-old son were killed.
