Deputy commander of "Sever" and his wife assassinated in Chechnya
In Grozny, an armed attack was committed on the deputy commander of the battalion "Sever" (North) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and his wife. According to a local law enforcement source, the suspect of committing the crime is detained.
The bodies of the deputy commander and his wife with gunshot wounds were found in the morning on August 27 in their room of the battalion hostel.
The battalion "Sever" was formed in Chechnya in 2006 under the patronage of Ramzan Kadyrov. In 2010, the battalion was transformed into the 141st Special Motorized Regiment named after Hero of Russia Akhmat-hajji Kadyrov; however, the unit preserved its name of "Sever".
"A Makarov pistol and ammunition were found at the scene of the murder," said the law enforcement source.
According to his version, the operative-investigative group has found the suspect and detained him. According to the "LifeNews", they managed to detain him hot on the trail.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the servicemen of the battalion "Sever" were the following persons, mentioned by investigators and media in connection with the murder in Moscow of Boris Nemtsov: Beslan Shavanov, who, according to power agents, committed a self-explosion at detention; Zaur Dadaev, who is under arrest; and a wanted Ruslan Geremeev.
