Zaur Dadaev to stay in custody
The defence of Zaur Dadaev, whom investigators believe to be the killer of Boris Nemtsov, has called unfounded the arguments in support of the extension of his arrest. The court agreed with the investigators and extended the arrest for other three months.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 24 and today, the court pronounced the decisions to extend the arrest of all the defendants, except Zaur Dadaev.
At the today's session of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, investigator and prosecutor presented to the court the grounds for the detention of Zaur Dadaev.
"The guilt of Zaur Dadaev is confirmed by his confession, testimony given by Anzor Gubashev, as well as the results of examinations and investigation actions," stated investigator Zhdanov.
The prosecutor has stressed "the special complexity of the case and the impossibility to change the pre-trial restriction measure to the defendant until the end of the preliminary investigation, which period is extended until November 28."
The defendant himself has claimed that he confessed to the crime under pressure and investigators had no other evidence of his guilt.
Shamsudin Tsakaev, an advocate of the defendant, has called the investigators' arguments "unfounded."
