Residents of Novy Khushet report shooting in the neighbourhood

Today in the afternoon, shooting was heard in the neighourhood of Makhachkala named Novy Khushet, said local residents. According to their story, power agents made house-by-house inspections and checked documents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the special operation in the Leninsky District of the capital of Dagestan began on August 23. Tonight, near Novy Khushet, three persons were; and an OMON fighter was wounded.

Those killed in the special operation are the leader of local militants Abdul Kurbanov and his subordinates Magomed Ibragimov and Magomed Abdulkhaliev, said a law enforcement source. As reported by the NAC, Kurbanov was involved in the murders of a district policeman in Novy Khushet on 17 August and two OMON fighters and a 14-year-old son of one of them on August 21.

Today, in Novy Khushet, power agents continued their special actions, said a local resident named Shamil Aliev.

Another local resident Magomed Magomedov has added that the special operation in Novy Khushet is conducted by law enforcers from other regions of Russia.

"The special operation is conducted not by local policemen, but by those who were sent from other regions; they behave quite tactfully and politely,” he said.

The Novy Khushet is a part of the Leninsky District of Makhachkala and has about 12,000 residents, mostly migrants from the Tsumadin District of Dagestan.
