Dagestani residents fear that militants can resume terror acts against civilians

After the elimination of Magomed Suleimanov, the leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz" recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization, the militants can resume the practice of terror acts against civilians in Northern Caucasus. This fear has been expressed by residents of Dagestan interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Suleimanov, the head of the IK, was killed during a special operation, conducted since August 10 in the Untsukul District of Dagestan.

Since Aliaskhab Kebekov experienced in Sharia became the qadi of the "Imarat Kavkaz" recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization, the positions of those members of the armed underground, who organized murders, terror, and extortions from civilians, were thoroughly undermined. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Arthur, a businessman from Dagestan, who preferred to remain anonymous.

Ramazan, another resident of Dagestan, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the Aliaskhab Kebekov's position was shared by his colleague Magomed Suleimanov, the next leader of the "Imarat Kavkaz". According to the source's information, Magomed Suleimanov went "into the woods" after the murder in October 2009 of Murtazali Magomedov, the Doctor of Sharia Sciences, who opposed the brutal methods used by the armed underground.

Dagestani resident Ramazan has also reported that the positions of Aliaskhab Kebekov and Magomed Suleimanov were not shared by many members of the armed underground. According to the source, the most aggressive groupings of militants were formed by natives of Southern Dagestan. Till present, many of them have sworn to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the "Islamic State".

"These are the groupings, which members were not happy with the election of Aliaskhab Kebekov and then Magomed Suleimanov. Now it's their time, since virtually no one of them knows Sharia. And such men like Vadalov will be pushed by young men, and the situation can roll down to total terror," Ramazan expresses his fears.
