Georgian citizen released from detention facility in South Ossetia
Mamuka Samkharadze, a citizen of Georgia, who was detained on the border with South Ossetia, has been released from the insulation facility of Tskhinvali.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Russian border guards detained Mamuka Samkharadze in the territory adjacent to the village of Kirbali in the Gori District. On August 13, the State Security Service of Georgia reported the detention of Samkharadze.
Mamuka Samkharadze was released from the detention facility after paying a fine of 150 laris (about 65 US dollars), the "Georgia-Online" reports today.
"Mamuka Samkharadze says that there was no violence; he was not beaten. From the viewpoint of his health, he's all right," the "Echo of the Caucasus" quoted a member of Mamuka Samkharadze's family.
So far, the position of South-Ossetian party in relation to information about detention and release of the citizen of Georgia is unknown.
