Georgia's MFA sends second protest note to Russia because of situation on border with South Ossetia

In its second note of protest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Georgia demands from the Russian Federation to observe its international obligations and not to create a threat of destabilization on the Georgian-South Ossetian border.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 11 the Georgia's MFA blamed Russian border guards and South-Ossetian authorities for installing information banners on the border, as a result of which, according to the Georgian party, a part of territory of Georgia and a section of the Baku-Supsa pipeline were captured. The banners were dismantled, but on August 6 a new information banner was installed on the border. On August 10, the Georgia's MFA sent a protest note to Russia.

"The MFA's note stresses that it was the third fact of setting up banners during the last month. The purposeful, provocative and aggressive actions of Russia create tension in the territory along the occupation line and a threat of destabilization," the "Sputnik" quotes the note of the Georgia's MFA today, not specifying the date of its submission to the Russia's MFA.
