Shadid Gubashev withdraws his confessions in Nemtsov's murder case

Shadid Gubashev, one of those accused of the murder of Boris Nemtsov, has withdrawn his earlier confessions and asked to question him again, said a source close to the investigation.

Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Shadid Gubashev was detained in March as a suspect in the Boris Nemtsov's murder case, along with four natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia: Zaur Dadaev, Anzor Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov.

"Shadid Gubashev has revoked his initial testimonies and asks to question him again. The respective petition has been already filed," the "Gazeta.ru" quotes the above source.

Vadim Prokhorov, the advocate of the Nemtsov family, said that "three of the detainees had really given confessions." "In any customized case, not only those related to politics, figurants make confessions and then withdraw them – it's an ordinary practice, which is no secret," he said.

According to his version, investigators are acting correctly in relation to perpetrators.

"The customers and organizers of the crime are not detained or even charged in absentia – this is the main problem. They are not among the detainees, while the perpetrators are treated correctly by investigators," the "Moskva" City News Agency quotes the advocate as saying.
